Cherpumple Pie

If you want to impress your guests this Thanksgiving Day, look no further than the Cherpumple Monster Pie. The hot holiday desert is a trendy creation of Charles Phoenix from Los Angeles, who felt inspired to combine the classic cherry, pumpkin, and apple pies into one gigantic creation after watching his family gorge on all three pies at last year’s feast. (Isn’t that what Thanksgiving Day is for, after all?)

If you are interested in adding the Cherpumple Monster Pie to your own Thanksgiving Day dinner table, however, you better start baking now. The assembly of this joyful caloric overload may take up to three days—which means that you’d be wise to start the process on Tuesday in order to have it ready by Thursday. Those new to the art of baking may also want to pass the baton to a more experienced chef. Baking the Cherpumple Monster Pie is bound to be an adventure!

So, if you are in the mood for something new this holiday season, give Cherpumple Monster Pie a try. At the very least, it will undoubtedly spark a lively dinner-table discussion and your guests will surely appreciate the entertainment.

Ingredients:

  • 1 8″ frozen pumpkin pie
  • 1 box spice cake mix
  • 1 8″ frozen apple pie
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 8″ frozen cherry pie
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • eggs and oil according to the cake mix
  • 3 tall tubs of cream-cheese frosting
  • 3 – 8.5″ round cake pans

Directions:

Bake pies according to instructions and cool to room temperature overnight. Mix cake batter according to instructions. For each layer pour about 1 1/3 cup of batter in the cake pan. Carefully de-tin the baked pie and place it face up on top of the batter in the cake pan. Push down lightly to release any trapped air. Pour enough batter on top to cover the pie. Bake according to box instructions. Cool and remove from pans then frost it like you mean it. Stack all three of the cakes to make a three tear monster!
